Values & Guidelines

#Our Values

We show up. For ourselves, for each other, and for the community. Consistency is how trust is built.

We respect each other. Every person in this cohort brings something real. We honour that in all participants.

We take care of this space. The Well Network is a community, not a service. How we treat it shapes what it becomes.

We communicate honestly. If something isn't working, we say so. If we need support, we ask. Silence doesn't help anyone.

We own our growth. No one can do this work for you. We'll walk beside you, but the steps are yours.

We are all learners and mentors and we set a path for others to follow.

Simple, relational commitments that keep our network safe and welcoming.

#The Well Network — Code of Conduct

Welcome. Before we begin, we ask every youth participant and their parent or guardian to read this document carefully.

  • This isn't a list of rules handed down from above. This is our shared agreement — written for the people doing the work, by the people who built this community.

#Who This Is For

  • This code of conduct applies to every youth participant enrolled in a Well Network Artist Lead Cohort, and to every parent or guardian who has supported their enrollment.

#What We Commit To

  • As a participant in The Well Network Artist Lead Cohort, I agree to:
  • Treat all community members, mentors, and facilitators with respect
  • Engage honestly in assignments, reflections, and live sessions
  • Keep what is shared by other participants confidential
  • Not use this platform or its spaces to harass, bully, or exclude anyone
  • Take responsibility for my own learning and participation
  • Represent The Well Network with integrity in all public-facing activities
  • Reach out to a facilitator or directly if I witness or experience something that feels unsafe

#Digital Conduct

  • This program takes place on a digital platform. All community standards apply online as they do in person.
  • No sharing of other participants' personal information without their consent
  • No screenshots or recordings of private sessions without permission
  • Platform posts and assignments are community property — treat them with care

#What Happens If the Agreement Is Broken

  • We handle things with care and directness here. If a concern arises:
  • A facilitator will reach out privately
  • We'll have a conversation — not a confrontation
  • If needed, Kristy Lee will be involved as the final decision-maker
  • In serious cases, participation may be paused or ended — always with a conversation first

#A Note to Parents and Guardians

  • Thank you for supporting your youth in this program. Your role matters. We ask that you:
  • Encourage your youth's participation without doing the work for them
  • Reach out to us directly if you have concerns: wellnetworkinc@gmail.com
  • Review this document together with your youth before signing
  • The Well Network Inc. | wellnetwork.ca | wellnetworkinc@gmail.com
  • This code of conduct is reviewed and updated annually.

The short version — so you know what to expect.

  • This is an intergenerational space. Youth, young adults, parents, mentors, and community members participate together, in person and online. How you show up matters. Read the room. Adjust accordingly.
  • Bring your real self. Authenticity is welcome. So is respectful uncertainty and disagreement and knowledge sharing. What is not welcome is dishonesty.
  • Online conduct is real conduct. What you post or share in digital spaces connected to The Well Network reflects on you and on this community.
  • Remember digital footprints are lasting,  especially for young people building their professional presence and creative career.
  • Confidentiality is a form of respect. What people share in workshops, group sessions, or private conversations stays there unless explicit permission is given to share it further. No screenshots, no recordings without consent.
  • Safety is everyone's responsibility. If something feels unsafe (online or in person) report it to a moderator at wellnetworkinc@gmail.com. For urgent concerns involving a young person contact Kids Help Phone (text 686868) or your local emergency services: Help in Tough Times | Alberta Health Services

  • Consequences are relational, not punitive. We address harm directly and proportionately. Repeated or serious harm will result in removal from programming.
